Beyond Yoga

I arrived and it is beautiful. My room's view has mountains and ocean in it. I can feel the change in humidity. The villa has it own pool... the worlds smallest lap-pool. I look forward to utilizing it later.

Our host was very open and personable during the tour of the retreat's facilities- villas, spa, dinning area, yoga studio. I think that maintaining that kind of attitude when yoga is a profession you share could be hard at times. Business end always seems to take over the practice. He had us introduce ourselves with five (5) questions.

  1. Christina

  2. California

  3. Villa 15

  4. Yoga has been a big part of my life and this past year I have felt disconnected. The feeling that my cup is empty, nothing left to share with my students. This is a restart, reconnect moment for me.

  5. My ability to pivot/adapt to change (superpower)

Going to go be social. The group is a mixture of people and experience. There are another teacher and one guy that has taken teacher training but has not ever taught- nor do I think that is his aspiration. Some people that have been doing yoga for years and some that are just starting. A few have never been exposed to anything apart from a physical practice at a gym. My roommate is that later. The eight (8) limb workshop will be interesting and I want to get her impressions on her initial experience with yoga as a philosophy.
